Sofie Hagen (comedian, author, podcaster) and Abby Wambaugh (comedian, writer, podcaster) met in 2022 when Abby supported Sofie on her Denmark tour. (The tour consisted of two shows, but they were quite far apart so it still counts.)

In 2023 the idea of Help Hole was formed through many voice notes sent between the two, as their conversations would often surround self help books. In January 2024, the podcast was officially born into the world.
